Windows 98 Dialup networking Installation

- Please
have your Windows 98 CD or
diskettes handy
- Double-click
My Computer on your desktop
- Double-click
the Control Panel | Add/Remove
Programs | Windows Setup
- Click
the Communications.
- Click
the Details... button.
- Put
a check in the box next to Dial-Up
Networking | OK
- Click
OK again.
- Windows
98 will prompt you for your installation
diskettes or CD.
- Wait
for Dial-Up Networking to install.
- When
you are told to restart,
click OK.
- Click
the Start | Shut Down.
- Select
Restart the computer? | Yes.
- Wait
for Windows 98 to restart
- Proceed
to Make a new connection.

Configuration

- Double-click the
My Computer | Dial-Up Networking
icon.
- Double-click the
Make New Connection icon.
- Under Type a
name for the computer you are dialing type CCINet
Connection.
- Make sure that
your modem is listed under Select Modem.
- Click the Next
button.
- Determine which
access number (POP) is local for you. Refer to
CCI documentation that was sent to you. Or go
to our: Local
Access Numbers
- Type the area
code and telephone numbers in the appropriate
fields.
- Click Next.

- Click Finish.
- Click the CCINet
Connection icon.
- Click File
| Properties from the menu
bar.
- Click the Server
Type button. You should have
following window.

- Choose PPP,
Windows 98, Windows NT 3.5, Internet.
- Uncheck Log
on to network.
- Uncheck NetBEUI.
- Uncheck IPX/SPX
Compatible.
- Check | Click on
the TCP/IP Settings button.

- Select Server
assigned IP address.
- Select Server
assigned name server addresses.
- Click OK.
- Click OK
again.
- Click OK
one more time.
